Project Overview
A purpose-built education and training facility providing vocational training in specific industry areas servicing remote schools in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytatjara (APY) Lands.
The Trade Training Centre located in the remote far north-west of South Australia provides the unique opportunity for secondary students attending remote schools in the APY Lands to undertake specific industry vocational training. The facility includes a commercial kitchen along with automotive, engineering and construction workshops, a dedicated training room with outdoor work areas, all fully equipped and compliant with industry standard equipment. The facility also provides purpose built accommodation for short-term trainers and lecturers. The APY Trade Training Centre is equipped to deliver qualifications in agriculture, automotive, bakery, construction, engineering, horticulture, and hospitality to address skills shortages in agriculture and in the trades of carpenter and joiner, cook, landscape gardener, metal fabricator, motor mechanic, pasty cook and wall and floor tiler.
