2026 Chapter Awards
LEA’s Chapter Awards celebrate excellence in the planning, design and delivery of innovative learning environments across our Australasian community. Recognising outstanding projects at a local level, the Chapter Awards provide an opportunity to showcase inspiring learning spaces that positively impact learners, educators and communities.
If you previously submitted your project to the LEA Design (LEAD) Awards and were unsuccessful in receiving a commendation or award, we strongly encourage you to enter the Chapter Awards.
A project’s success from the LEAD Awards does not determine its success at Chapter level, and many outstanding learning environments deserve recognition within their local community.
We invite all eligible projects to take part and join us in celebrating the remarkable work being undertaken across Learning Environments Australasia. The Chapters participating in this years program include:
- Aotearoa New Zealand
- Queensland
- South Australia
- Tasmania + Victoria
- Western Australia
It is a requirement of entry that submitters are members of LEA. Not a member? Join now.
Congratulations to our 2026 LEAD Award Winners
Learning Environments Australasia’s Regional Awards celebrate our members’ projects that demonstrate effectiveness in the planning, design and construction of educational facilities across the region.
The first Regional Awards were held in Melbourne in 2008 and were followed with even greater interest in 2010. An Award presentation ceremony and exhibition of all entries is held in conjunction with the Regional Conference each year. The event has grown in size and strength and now a number of our chapters hold Awards programs each year.
The core mission of the awards is to bridge the awareness of architects and school communities about the interplay between teaching and learning methodology and space by identifying examples of good educational spaces where innovative architectural ideas successfully support an educational philosophy.
The Awards Program not only reflects our focus on the design and use of engaging and innovative learning spaces and programs, but also supports the questioning and challenging of our current practices, to ensure the continual improvement and excellence we strive for.
