SCIL Vision Tour 2016
11 Apr 2016
"Learn from Finland", Howard Gardner once advised Americans. Over the last decade or so, this small Nordic nation has become a place where many educators and governments have looked to as a place where learning, school culture and government policy have created a positive and successful school system.
This year on the tour we will be spending a few days based in Helsinki, but travelling to nearby regions as well. In the new school year (Aug 2016) the Finnish education system will be launching its new curriculum approach: phenomenon-based teaching. This is an integrated, cross-curriculum approach.

Following the STEAM theme we will go to schools, science centres, libraries, and of course, taking in design and the arts. This includes the EYE Film Institute, Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and a Gaudi walking tour in Barcelona.
Earlybird rates end on 17 June 2016.
