A unique, fun and challenging opportunity

Do you know a young professional who's looking for a fun, challenging and exciting professional development opportunity in learning environments?

The Mayfield Project is Learning Environments Australasia's bi-annual research programme that brings together young architects, planners, teachers, education administrators, education consultants, policy makers and students.

Past participants have gone on to develop successful careers in learning space management and design and credit The Mayfield Project for giving them a huge leap in their professional development.

We are looking for creative, committed and passionate young professionals to explore current education issues and embark on an exciting enquiry-based design thinking process to create real-world applications of current theory. Participants will expand their knowledge, meet new like-minded people, work together across chapters, and have the opportunity to present their new-found knowledge.

The teams will commence within their own chapters in January 2020 and will meet face-to-face in April 2020 over three days, to further find connections and work with the broader team. Following this, all participants will be required to present at the Regional Conference in Christchurch in May 2020. The outcome from this presentation will be required to be produced in a written format, for publication on the Mayfield website.

Conference registration, flights and accommodation costs will be paid by Learning Environments Australasia.

Note: the candidates will be responsible for meals and any other on location transport and incidental costs over their two stays.

A presentation will also be made by the successful candidates reporting on their research and the Mayfield experience to their local LEA Chapter in the latter half of 2020.

Expressions of interest should be in written form, with a brief description of the candidate’s reason for wanting to be part of the project, and a short one-page CV.
