Janet dedicated her career to education, as a teacher, curriculum developer, teacher trainer and facility planner. She became a member of CEFPI in 1999, and since then was instrumental in establishing the CEFPI Australasia Region, as well as the Victorian Chapter.
In 2000, Janet participated in crucial strategic planning with CEFPI leaders in the USA, paving the way for CEFPI to expand its horizons into Australia. Since the establishment of CEFPI in Australasia in 2000, Janet provided continuous service to developing the Region and Chapter as a successful and sustainable organisation.
Throughout this time Janet served as Secretary to the Executive Council and also as Secretary to the Victorian Chapter. Janet continued to engage with CEFPI’s U.S. leaders through three International committees, representing the Australian perspective on Membership and Communication.
Perhaps her greatest legacy, Janet initiated the Annual Facilities Awards Program at both a Regional and Victorian level. These programs have continued to grow each year, with the Regional Awards associated with the Regional Conference Dinner, and the Victorian Chapter Awards having been expanded to include an annual Awards publication.
Janet participated at every level of CEFPI, attending International and Regional conferences, special events and seminars. As a result of her longstanding association with CEFPI, Janet became a treasured custodian of the CEFPI culture and history. CEFPI Australasia would not be the organisation it is today without her tireless and committed passion to make schools great places for learning.
This citation honours the significant contribution of the recipient to CEFPI Australasia.
