2026 LEAD Awards Refunds, Terms & Conditions

1. Learning Environments Australasia Design (LEAD) Awards

  1. All current members of LEA are invited to participate in the Annual LEAD Awards program. Please read the following information carefully for instructions regarding the awards and visit the LEAD Awards Portal (accessible via the LEA Events webpage).
  2. The LEAD Awards usually open in November and close the following February, with the Award Winners announced at LEA’s Annual Regional Conference, usually held in May.


2. Refunds and/or Withdrawal

  1. LEA must be formally notified of your intention to cancel or withdraw your entry/ies via email: awards@learningenvironments.org.au by the closing submission date, located on the LEAD Awards Portal (accessible via the LEA Events webpage).
  2. Projects withdrawn between registration date and submission closing date will receive a 50% refund only.
  3. No refund will be available after the submission closing date.
  4. Entries for which no fee/payment has been received by the submission closing date will not progress to judging.
  5. To ensure that you receive all communications regarding the awards, please register your project via the LEAD Awards Portal, and c0mplete your entry submission on the AwardsForce portal.

How to Enter (Step 1): Register & Pay

  1. Register your project via the LEAD Awards Portal (accessible via the LEA Events webpage).
  2. A fee of AUD $400 + GST per submission for Australian entries, and AUD $400, no GST per submission for New Zealand entries, in accordance with New Zealand taxation regulations, will be charged. Payment can be made by EFT or credit card (non Australian members please pay by credit card).
  3. One educational facility may be entered in multiple categories. However, one entry fee for each entry/category the educational facility is entered is payable. Submissions for one educational facility in multiple categories should be tailored to suit each category and respond to the assessment criteria.


4. How to Enter (Step 2): Submitting Your Entry/ies

  1. Enter your project via learningenvironments.awardsplatform.com. Entrants can submit their project/s from when the LEAD Awards open until the entry submission closes.
  2. Note: the entry submission portal (AwardsForce portal) is a different website to the LEA Awards Portal for registration. Entrants who have not used the AwardsForce portal previously will need to create a new profile/login.


5. Refunds and/or Withdrawal

  1. Entrants must be an LEA member with membership paid for the current financial year.
  2. Entrants must register and pay an entry fee for each entry by the required date above.
  3. Projects must have been occupied and in use for at least 6 months and construction completed within the last 3 years, the exact date is specified on the LEAD Awards Portal (accessible via the LEA Events webpage).

  1. Please review the LEAD Awards Portal (accessible via the LEA Events webpage) for all information pertaining to the awards, including How to Enter, Awards Categories, Assessment Criteria, Resources & FAQs, and Essential Entry Information for Applicants.

 

7. Assessment Criteria & Judging

  1. An Award or Commendation for each category may be presented to the entrant/s whose educational facility project best meets the assessment criteria as described on the LEAD Awards Websites.
  2. Judging of these award entries is by at least three experienced industry practitioners appointed by Learning Environments Australasia. The jury reserves the right to award, make commendations or not to make an award or commendations in any of the categories.
  3. All criteria are equally weighted. Succinct answers to the criteria, including bullet points, are encouraged.

  1. We may change the LEAD Awards Refunds Terms & Conditions from time to time.  Any updated versions of the LEAD awards refunds terms & conditions will be posted on our website. It is the responsibility of each Awards Purchaser and each Organisation/Company entering the LEAD Awards to review this webpage regularly to review any updates.
