26 Jun 2017
The SA Chapter's stimulating schedule of events continued with these two recent site tours.
St Peter's College Middle Years
An enjoyable tour and presentation of the new Pentreath Middle Years building dedicated to Year 7 and 8 boys at St Peter's College. Hosted in the middle of the day, attendees were able to experience the new spaces in use by both staff and students, which proved to be highly engaging. New learning spaces are distributed over two floors in the new building to allow structured, informal and social learning.
University of Adelaide Hub Central & The Braggs
A walking tour of Hub Central and The Braggs culminated in a highly stimulating forum at the University of Adelaide on a series of outreach programs specifically tailored to advancing STEM studies. Enlightening presentations were received from the Children's University, MOOC (assisting digital literacy for Science teachers), ARC Senior Research Fellow on the importance of quality facilities and Head of Science at Concordia College on engagement of girls in STEM studies.
