LEA Members feature at Melbourne Design Week
13 Mar 2019
LEA Members are at the forefront of education design events for Melbourne Design Week.
LEA's former Chair Richard Leonard will moderate the forum Designing the Future of Education on March 23.
Taking place at the newly opened Richmond High School, the forum explores the future of Education design.
The session features Lindfield Learning Village (NSW) Principal, Stephanie McConnell and Richmond High School’s Principal Colin Simpson. They will discuss the architectural response to contemporary educational settings, how to create nurturing learning environments while embracing emerging pedagogies such as ‘stage not age’ and ‘learning communities’, as well as the evolution of vertical schools.
Richmond High School was recently designed and delivered by LEA members Hayball and is the second vertical State school in Victoria.
This is a free event, you can register here
Also featured as part of Melbourne Design Week is Archi-Pitch, which "matchmakes architects to the schools that need them".
LEA Members Brand Architects, Clarke Hopkins Clarke, K2LD Architects, Law Architects and Y2 Architecture are amongst those architectural firms participating.
They will have three minutes to convince a panel of education sector stakeholders that their practice understands how learning and teaching environments should look and perform in the future.
This March 19 event is free, but bookings are essential via this link
