The MicroCert Architects + Educators are Choosing
22 Jan 2026
Learning environments are no longer neutral backdrops - they actively shape how students learn, engage and thrive. The MicroCert: Designing Environments for Modern Learning, delivered by the University of Melbourne in partnership with Learning Environments Australasia (LEA), equips professionals with the knowledge and tools to design learning spaces that genuinely support contemporary pedagogy.
Returning in 2026 following a successful 2025 delivery, this refreshed MicroCert offers the same high qality, evidence informed content under an updated course name. Designed and taught by experts from the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, the program bridges the gap between spatial design, teaching practice and learning outcomes.
Delivered fully online over eight weeks, the MicroCert explores how space, furniture and technology influence learning. Participants engage with real world case studies, current policy initiatives and contemporary research, culminating in the development of a practical learning space concept aligned to learner needs and pedagogical goals.
This MicroCert is ideal for architects, designers, educators, school leaders and learning environment specialists seeking to lead change in education through informed design decisions. It also provides evidence of achievement against AITSL Teaching Standards, strengthening professional credentials across sectors.
With only 30 places available and enrolments closing Monday 26 January 2026, demand is high. Whether you are shaping schools, advising clients or leading learning communities, this MicroCert offers a rare opportunity to deepen your impact.
