Nominations Open for LEA Executive Leadership Roles

We are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for two key Executive leadership positions: Chair Elect (November 2026 – November 2028) and International Director (November 2026 – November 2030). These roles provide an opportunity for experienced LEA members to contribute to the future direction, governance and continued growth of our organisation, while supporting the advancement of learning environments across Australasia and internationally.
LEA’s Executive roles are an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the organisation and the wider learning environments profession. We encourage members who are passionate about collaboration, leadership and the future of learning environments to consider nominating.

Chair Elect (November 2026 – November 2028)
- The Chair Elect is an important leadership role within LEA’s Executive Team and forms part of a six-year leadership pathway: two years as Chair Elect, followed by two years as Chair and two years as Past Chair.
- The Chair Elect works closely with the Chair to support the leadership and strategic direction of LEA, while helping to promote membership, strengthen engagement across the organisation and support LEA Chapters in their activities.
- This role provides an opportunity to develop deeper understanding of LEA’s governance and operations while contributing to the continued growth and success of the association.
International Director (November 2026 – November 2030)
The International Director is the Australasian Region’s representative on the A4LE International Board, providing an important connection between Learning Environments Australasia and the global learning environments community.
- Each A4LE region is entitled to elect one representative to the International Board, with the Australasian Region holding an election every four years for this position.
- The successful candidate will be someone who has demonstrated commitment and involvement with LEA and who meets the required criteria for the role.
- As the official voice of the Australasian Region on the A4LE International Board, the International Director contributes to international discussions relating to policy, governance and organisational management, while ensuring regional perspectives are represented.
- The role includes participation in A4LE International Board meetings, conferences and committees or taskforces, which may include online meetings and occasional face-to-face meetings.
- The International Director also provides updates and reports to LEA’s Executive Team, Regional Council and Annual General Meeting, ensuring strong communication between LEA and A4LE.
