Primary Teacher Perspectives on School Learning Environments
16 Sep 2025
Learning Environments Australasia is pleased to support an important research initiative led by the University of Melbourne in partnership with a group of European universities. This study seeks to better understand primary teachers’ perspectives on their school learning environments and will inform the development of new professional learning programs to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
Researchers at the University of Melbourne are inviting teachers to complete a short online survey about their experiences working in a range of school learning environments. The survey should take approximately 10 - 15 minutes to complete at a time convenient to them. The University of Melbourne has granted ethical approval for the project.
Funded by the European Commission, the overarching aim of the project is to develop a “Train the Trainer” professional learning program that supports schools to promote quality, equity, and inclusion in the design and use of their school learning environments. Teachers’ contributions will play a vital role in ensuring long term sustainable teaching practices that improve student learning and outcomes across all schools.
For further information, please see the plain language statement and feel free to share the research poster in your staffroom or circulate it to your colleagues. We kindly ask that surveys be completed by Friday, 31 October.
If you have any questions about the project, please contact A/Prof Marian Mahat via email, or any of the researchers listed in the plain language statement. We encourage you to share this opportunity within your networks to help ensure as many voices as possible are heard. Your participation and support will contribute to shaping the future of inclusive and effective learning environments.
