Singapore Chapter looks at Li Ka Shing library refurbishment
08 Jun 2015
What do Librarians do? Do they have their hair in a bun with hard-rimmed glasses, wear tweed skirts and go around saying Sssshhhhh …..???
Our first guest speaker at the CEFPI Singapore Wine & Cheese Night on the 5th of May – Gulcin Cribb, Head University Librarian, Singapore Management University openly discussed and dispelled stereotypes through the lens of the recently completed Li Ka Shing Library Refurbishment. Improved results in the LibQual 2015 survey are testament to the inclusive design process, quality of design and a customer centric vision that drove the project.
Joining us from Brisbane, Mark Rouers, Education and Science Sector Lead, HASSELL presented recently completed learning environment projects in Australia that prototype construction techniques that disrupt the status quo and shift behaviour to drive new conversations amoung, students, academics and the built environment profession
The evening concluded with discussion about sustainable approaches to cooling buildings in sub tropical and tropical climates.
