The robot fun of the STEaM Fair!
29 Apr 2016
We were presented with robots by students from various schools, including Pittwater House, Wenona School, Barker College, MLC Sydney and the RoboCup Junior Australia. After delving into the delights of fairy floss, hot dogs and sodas we had a chance to see, touch and play with the robots, of course we were all under the eager supervision of the inventors!
Following the fair we gathered to learn about STEaM and how it can be integrated into a learning framework. We thank Melanie Hughes for her TED style talk, Melissa Silk & Anette Mauer for their creative approach with STEAMpop.
The night was then capped off with Jake Plasket, a former student and teacher at High Tech High and the current Coordinator of Innovative Learning at Rosebank College. His imaginative approach to learning gave the architects, facility managers and other educators firsthand experiences of inquiry driven learning.
Overall the night was tactile delight of the learning environment!
