WA Chapter: A Year of Connection and Opportunity
29 Jan 2025
Happy New Year and welcome back to what promises to be an exciting and enriching 2025 for Learning Environments WA! As we step into this new year, we’re filled with enthusiasm for the opportunities ahead and are eager to reconnect with you all.
Looking Ahead: Exciting Plans for WA in 2025
We’ll be kicking off the year with a Chapter Planning Day in early February, where we’ll be reflecting on the past years successes and laying the groundwork for the year ahead.
Following that, we’re thrilled to host a Members’ Breakfast and Event, where we’ll outline and discuss our plan for the year with you. This is your chance to help shape the direction of our chapter, so we encourage everyone to join us and have their say. Your insights are invaluable, and we’re keen to learn what you want more and less of from Learning Environments WA in 2025 and beyond.
Regional Highlights
We’re also delighted to celebrate and support WA’s very own Ros Marsland, who has taken on the role of Regional Chair. Ros’s dedication and leadership will undoubtedly bring great energy to the Australasia Region as they spearhead initiatives such as the Regional Awards Program. Don’t miss your chance to showcase your incredible work and be part of this prestigious recognition, registrations close on Friday 7th February. We look forward to Ros’s influence on a Regional level and all the experiences she’ll be sharing with us all back here in WA to learn from.
In addition, we’re gearing up for LEA's annual regional conference "LEA 3001: A Learning Space Odyssey", held in Brisbane | Meanjin in May. This is a key event on the Learning Environments calendar. Early bird registrations are open, and close in February, so ensure you register before early bird closes to take advantage of the discounted registration.
The conference will explore how rapid advancements in technology, shifting social landscapes, and environmental challenges are reshaping the way we design and interact with spaces for learning.
From AI-powered classrooms and blended learning environments to the influence of community, culture and climate, the conference promises to dive into the future of education with optimism and creativity.
Celebrating WA and Pioneering New Ideas
Here in WA, we are in the early stages of planning a P(R)EP Symposium, a platform to explore new perspectives and share knowledge that can shape the future of our learning environments. This year, we also want to celebrate your work and projects, so we encourage members to share their stories and achievements with us throughout the year.
Stay Connected
2025 is about connection - connection with our members, our regions, broader learning environments community and allied industries. We are committed to fostering opportunities for collaboration, sharing, and learning that help us all thrive. Let’s make this year one to remember!
We can’t wait to see you at our upcoming events and to hear your ideas for the future of Learning Environments WA and encourage you to share your experiences with your colleagues to share our voice further.
