We are thrilled to announce the resounding success of the 2023 RDO: Knowledge Capital, held last Friday 22 September, at the ANU Kambri Cultural Centre in Canberra. The day was expertly guided by our charismatic MC, Dan Bourchier, whose engaging presence kept the audience enthralled throughout and enabled us to delve deeper in the Q&A sessions.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our distinguished keynote speakers, Alison Page and Dr. Lois Peeler, whose insightful talks left an indelible mark on all attendees. Their expertise and passion for their respective fields added immense value to the event. We would also like to thank all the delegates who joined us, contributing to the vibrant discussions and forging new connections. Your presence and participation were pivotal in making this day a resounding success.
In addition to the enriching keynote sessions and engaging discussions, the RDO featured five double site tours. Delegates were treated to an immersive experience as they explored these diverse sites, gaining invaluable insights and networking opportunities at every turn.
The format of the day, which allowed ample time at each site, was widely appreciated by attendees, as it provided them with the opportunity to delve deep into the unique offerings of each location. This hands-on approach truly exemplified the spirit of the event, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among all participants. It was a testament to the enthusiasm and dedication of our educational facilities that welcomed our delegates into their locations, making these site tours such a resounding success.

The 2023 RDO: Knowledge Capital was a day filled with inspiration, insights and engagement opportunities that have further enriched our community of learning environment enthusiasts.
First and foremost, I want to express my sincere appreciation to all the delegates who joined us at this event. Your presence and active participation played a pivotal role in making this day a resounding success. It was heartening to see our LEA community come together, exchange ideas and strengthen our collective commitment to creating innovative and dynamic learning environments.
I would also like to extend a special thank you to our distinguished speakers Alison Page and Dr Lois Peeler and MC Dan Bourchier, whose expertise and thought-provoking presentations added immense value to the event. Your contributions ignited thoughtful discussions and left us with a wealth of knowledge to carry forward.
Additionally, the double site tours organised as part of the RDO deserve special mention. These tours allowed our delegates to immerse themselves in exploring diverse learning environment facilities, showcasing the critical role these spaces play in shaping modern education. Our delegates had a plethora of choices, from St Mary MacKillop College and Questacon to East Gunghalin High School and the National Gallery of Australia, our delegates embraced visiting these facilities and enjoyed their site tour experiences, regardless of which option they selected.
As we reflect on the 2023 Regional Day Out Knowledge Capital, I would like to extend our gratitude to the ACT Chapter, specifically Ella Masters (Previous Chair) and Erik Innes (Current Chair) in their remarkable efforts in organising and hosting this years successful event.
To our delegates and sponsors - your dedication to advancing the field of learning environments is truly commendable and I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and collaboration that will undoubtedly stem from the insights gained during this remarkable event.
