This magazine started, like many good ideas do, with a conversation in a pub.

Welcome to the very first edition of the Learning Environments Victoria Annual Magazine - arriving as we celebrate 25 years of Learning Environments Australasia and unveil our new tagline that captures the heart of who we are and where we’re going.

This magazine grew from a simple idea: to create a space that reflects the energy, ideas, and connections that make our community so special. It brings together the projects, people, and conversations that have shaped our year, and the shared commitment to creating better places for learning.

Over recent years, LEA has evolved in meaningful ways, embracing new systems, expanding our international links, and refreshing how we connect with members. Through it all, the Victorian Chapter has stayed focused on what matters most - collaboration, curiosity, and the exchange between educators and designers.

As Georgi Fairley hands the Chair role to Emily Flint, we celebrate both the legacy that’s been built and the exciting possibilities ahead. We hope you enjoy this first edition, and that it sparks reflection, inspiration, and conversation about what comes next.
