National Reconciliation Week 2025

Bridging Now to Next
27 May to 3 June 2025
This week, Learning Environments Australasia acknowledges National Reconciliation Week 2025 - a time for reflection, recognition, and a renewed commitment to strengthening respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community.
The 2025 theme "Bridging Now to Next" encourages us to carry forward the wisdom of the past while working together toward a more inclusive and equitable future.
As a trans-Tasman organisation with members across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, we also recognise that reconciliation takes different forms across the places we live and work.
In New Zealand, reconciliation is a continuous journey - expressed through efforts to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi, revitalise Te Reo Māori, and foster understanding between Māori and Pākehā communities. Initiatives such as Māori Language Week, Waitangi Day, and the adoption of Reconciliation Action Plans reflect this ongoing commitment.
LEA believes learning spaces should support cultural safety, reflect the diverse identities of learners, and encourage shared understanding. Through inclusive design and collaboration, we aim to foster environments where Indigenous perspectives are valued, and where all learners feel a strong sense of place and belonging.
This week, and every week, we are committed to listening, learning, and contributing meaningfully to the ongoing work of reconciliation and cultural respect in both Australia and Aotearoa.
