One LEA, Many Local Communities
06 Aug 2026
While you might regularly attend events hosted by your local Chapter, every Chapter is part of one organisation - Learning Environments Australasia (LEA).
One organisation. Many local connections.
LEA is a not for profit professional association bringing together more than 950 members across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, South East Asia and beyond. We connect educators, architects, designers, school leaders, project managers, landscape architects, suppliers and many others who share a passion for creating better learning environments.
Together, we advocate for innovative learning spaces, deliver professional development, recognise excellence through our awards programs, support research, and foster a vibrant community focused on improving education through design.
So, where do the Chapters fit in?
Think of LEA as one organisation with local communities.
Our Chapters deliver local events, build relationships and create opportunities for members to connect in their own region, while remaining part of the wider LEA community.
Our Chapters are:
- LEA ACT Chapter, or LEAACT
- LEA NSW Chapter, or LEANSW
- LEA QLD Chapter, or LEAQ
- LEA SA Chapter, or LEASA
- LEA TAS Chapter, or LEAT
- LEA VIC Chapter, or LEAV
- LEA WA Chapter, or LEAWA
- LEA NZ Chapter, or LEANZ
We also have an affiliate group in the Northern Territory.
Why are we using "LEA" before every Chapter?
You may notice we're now referring to our Chapters as LEA QLD Chapter, LEA VIC Chapter, LEA NZ Chapter, and so on.
This small change helps reinforce that, while each Chapter has its own local identity and activities, we're all part of the same organisation, working towards the same vision.
No matter which Chapter you belong to, you're part of a connected community that shares knowledge, ideas and inspiration across Australasia.
