R U OK? Day … 17 September 2025
11 Sep 2025
At Learning Environments Australasia, we know that great spaces are built for connection, and so are great communities. That’s why on R U OK? Day, we are pausing to reflect on the importance of conversations that go beyond the surface.
While R U OK? Day is a national reminder, the message is simple and enduring: every day is the right day to ask, “Are you OK?” Whether it’s a colleague, student, family member or friend, showing genuine interest in how someone is really going can make a meaningful difference.
You don’t need to have all the answers, or the perfect words. What matters most is the willingness to listen. It’s often in the everyday spaces. The staffroom, a corridor chat, a quick meeting, or over coffee, that people feel most supported when someone takes the time to ask and care.
Research shows that when people are regularly asked if they’re OK, they experience greater feelings of connection and wellbeing. These small, caring interactions help create environments where people feel safe, valued and supported - something we believe is central to both learning and living well.
A conversation really can change a life
Together, let’s continue to design and foster environments where meaningful conversations thrive, not just on R U OK? Day, but every day of the year.
