Seeking EOI from Schools interested in participating in the MAAS Young Creators Conference
08 Jun 2016
The inaugural Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences (MAAS) Young Creators Conference is an exciting new feature event for Sydney Science Festival to be held on 15 August.
The MAAS Young Creators Conference is a learner-centred “show and tell” event which will provide opportunities for learners to shine, share their projects, processes, passions and ideas with peers, teachers and museum visitors. Teachers will have the chance to share experiences, discover best practices and network with other inspiring school educators.
School representative groups will display their projects, materials and practices presenting and explaining their engagement in STEM/STEAM learning programs. The focus areas include ‘makerspaces’, code clubs, entrepreneurship, creative computing, cross-curricular practices like Project-Based Learning, and/or integrated technical and academic education approaches.
Participation will offer schools a platform to promote your best practice initiatives and leadership. Your school representatives will also have an opportunity to collaborate with the Museum and other young people and teachers in the planning of the event. And your entire school is welcome to join in on the day* to support their local reps, check out the diversity of materials, ideas and applications, and broaden their perspectives about ingenuity in schools today.
School group bookings are required for all non-presenting learners who will attend on the day. book@maas.museum 02 9217 0222.
